Embedded Software and System Test Engineer (H/F) April 2026

About Cardiawave 

Based in Levallois-Perret, near Paris, Cardiawave SA is developing a noninvasive ultrasound therapy for the treatment of heart valve disease, with an initial focus on calcified aortic stenosis, the most common cardiac pathology in adults. Its patented technology combines therapeutic ultrasound, robotics, and ultrasound imaging. It is the result of research conducted by the French academic laboratories Physics for Medicine Paris (INSERM/CNRS/ESPCI/PSL) and Georges Pompidou European Hospital (HEGP), a leader in the field of valve disease and cardiac ultrasound imaging.

The role 

The new member of the V&V team will support all testrelated phases of development including definition, design, troubleshooting, characterization, and verification of Valvosoft systems as well as proprietary manufacturing and service tools. The individual will be an integral part of the Test & Validation organization delivering the highest quality, lifechanging technology to our patients. 

This role requires a strong background in instrumentation, embedded software testing, problemsolving, and issue investigation, with a passion for improving healthcare through technology. 

Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • During initial system definition, assess intended functionality for clarity and testability and suggest functional enhancements. 
  • As functionality is developed for a system, informally exercise and confirm functionality using industry and internally developed tools. 
  • Design and implement internal tools needed to aid development (e.g., data streaming, visualization, and analysis tools). 
  • Identify functional design issues and collect diagnostic information to assist the correction of the issue. 
  • Perform unit testing of embedded software using the Cantata testing framework. 
  • Collaborate with other team members to investigate and resolve identified issues. 
  • Confirm correction of design issues after they are addressed. 
  • Identify and develop test scenarios for system functionality. 
  • Define, design, and validate any necessary components needed for the test environment. 
  • Conduct system integration and testing to ensure compatibility and functionality by authoring verification protocols, collecting test data, performing basic data analysis, and preparing reports. 
  • Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work. 
  • Support in multifunctional actions (manufacturing, supply, maintenance, metrology…). 

The skills 

  • Master of science degree / Engineering degree (Bac+5). 
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken). 
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities. 
  • Strong hands‑on mindset in a cross‑functional engineering environment. 
  • Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded software understanding and testing.  
  • Experience with embedded software testing frameworks (e.g., Cantata).  
  • Understanding of embedded targets, preferably Texas Instruments (e.g., ARM / DSP / microcontrollers).  
  • Knowledge of scripting (Python) and testing automation tools.  
  • Fluent English (written/spoken). 

Nice to Have 

  • Experience working with test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, waveform generators, power supplies, multimeters). 
  • Experience in medical device industry. 
  • Programming skills in Python, TCP/IP, serial link.
